WHY SHOULD I FLY TODAY? AND WHERE SHOULD I GO?

These are great questions, and they are ones we have all asked ourselves during our pursuit of an aviation hobby.

Introducing OneTankFlights.com (http://www.onetankflights.com ), a FREE website that provides a wealth of information regarding new and interesting places to fly along with critical functionality that allows you to evaluate airfield choices, all in a visual representation.

OneTankFlights.com is a comprehensive flight discovery tool that allows you to search for points of interest or events that are not only of interest to you, but that are within an easy flight of your home location. The visual representation of each potential point of interest is shown on the map and very quickly provides a list of possible options. And since it is a peer-rated system, you can easily determine the winners from the losers. The website allows pilots to simply type in a key word or phrase in order to find various destinations of interest to them. These destinations include restaurants, amusement parks, museums, fly-ins, outdoor activities, historical locations, and more, all within short distances from the airports. For example, we all know why most pilots fly, right? It's all about the pie! Well, I'll bet you've never been to Winchester IN, near the Ohio and Indiana border. Mrs. Wick's Pie Shop and Restaurant is located just 2 miles from Randolph County Airport (I22) and there is even a crew car available to get you there. Make the flight and let us know how the pie was!

OneTankFlights.com also provides a place for pilots to share their experiences, comments, and advice regarding their recent flights. So often the knowledge we all gain by flying to different locations is "locked up" and not shared except during hangar flying sessions with our own flight clubs and friends. This "tribal knowledge" is vital to the health of general aviation and this site provides a user-friendly way to let other pilots know where the best pie is! Let's face it, we all have our favorite places and the only way to expand your range is to find new reasons to fly. This site fills that gap.

Ultimately, OneTankFlights.com is a great new tool for those of us that have become creatures of habit to access new aviation destinations, evaluate competing airfields near our destination, and share our experiences and nuggets of information with our peers.

And best of all, its FREE! Give it a try and please let us know what you think with the "Contact Us" link on the homepage.
