GEFA Goals & Objectives

The Golden Empire Flying Association is a 501©3 non-profit organization located in Grass Valley, California. Meetings are held monthly on the third Thursday and are largely social with speakers and educational seminars.

The club's primary goals are to:

• Promote the growth safety and enjoyment of general aviation.
• Support our local Nevada County Airport.
• Increase public awareness of the airport and its importance to the economic well-being of the community.
• Provide aviation scholarships to local youth.
• Provide labor and materials to improve the facilities at the airport.

The AirFest and earlier fly-in's have been GEFA's only annual public awareness and fundraising events.

The objectives for the AirFest have been:

• To provide an opportunity for the general public to share the experience and excitement of aviation firsthand with a variety of major attractions.
• To give businesses an opportunity to benefit with us through advertising and participation.
• To raise money to meet GEFA's primary goals.
